How the strap works

If you wear a traditional neck strap diagonally across your body it can be awkward when trying to shoot. Particularly with a neck pad. The Sling neck strap is a continuous loop that's worn diagonally across your body, but the camera is attached to a connector that slides easily up and down the strap. They are $52 (including 1 connector) not including accessories.

The connector is attached to the sling neck strap with a threaded metal link. This makes it easy to change connectors.

With the sling neck strap, your camera is at your side and out of the way. It is easy to grab the camera and bring up to your eye as the connector slides up the strap. If you have a neck pad it stays right where it is.

You can even add a wrist strap (using another connection point) and safely remove your camera from the sling.

They work great on almost any size camera. Even medium format and large format press cameras. They're out of the way and can easily be brought up for viewing.

Size

The total circumference of the strap is measured for the length. I recommend an overall length between 52" and 58". If you are short then a strap down to 48", or shorter, may work. I am 5'10" and prefer a 52" strap. If you look at the back of a digital camera then a little extra length might be good if you have difficulty focusing up close.

A way to check for the size is to drape a piece of string diagonally around your body to simulate wearing the strap. The connector is 3" long and will let the camera hang down that much from the strap. It's good to get the camera hip high.

Colors

Leather color: Made of Latigo belt leather, my hand made camera straps are tough, flexible, and pliable. They have a natural luster that only improves with age and softens with use. Keep in mind that there are always variations in leather. The color and texture can vary from hide to hide. Please allow for this.

Wrapping cord color: You can choose between 14 different wrap colors.

Additional Accessories

Neck pad

My neck straps will support pretty heavy loads but sometimes our necks won't. The straps work fine for lighter cameras, but for those heavier cameras, I always use a neck pad. These pads are 1" (25mm) wide and 8 3/4" (222mm) long for good support and we beveled the edges for better comfort. They are made from the same leather as the straps and are available in the same colors. If you want a neck pad it must be ordered with the strap. Unfortunately, they can't be added after the strap has been assembled. Neck pads are an additional US $18.

Strap Bumpers

*Note: strap bumpers are only needed for split-ring connectors.

O-ring strap bumpers are made of rubber and are thicker than the other bumpers. It's also recommended to use them if you are attaching your strap to a rod. This will keep the split ring securely in place. They're also easily added after the strap has been assembled. $1 each.

Octagonal strap bumpers are a great leather option and can be added to your camera at any time. Although we make them thinner, the same leather is used as the straps and they're available in the same colors. $5 each.

Integral Strap Bumpers are assembled in the loop of the strap. They can then be placed between the lug-mount and the split ring for protection. We thin the same leather that's used for the straps so the same colors are available. Because the strap is assembled together with the Integral strap bumper they can not be added after the strap has been assembled. $5 each.
